Remote Extension vs Remote Backup

Remote Extensions

Telemojo brings the complete set of features to mobile phones, home phones or any other existing phone service. For the most part the phones mostly used as remote extensions are mobile phones. By integrating your mobile phone you will be able to use the Telemojo phone system features  with other remote extensions and regular office phones. This allows for users to have a completely mobile phone system with features like call transfer, call record, voicemail to email, conference calls of 4+ people and all while keeping your mobile phone number private.

Have a look at our mobile demonstration so see how something as basic as a flip phone can use business system features without apps.

Remote Backups

Remote backups are phones that are associated to your extension so if your business has an internet or power outage your calls with automatically route to your mobile phone that is registered with your extension.

For example your mobile phone will become the backup phone to your desk phone.

email to SMS

This is the process if you want to initiate a message. Responding to messages will be much easier then generating an outgoing message.

  1. Open a new message as though you were going to start a new email message.
  2. Type in the from number and to number in the following syntax: f8005551212-t8005551212@mysmsforward.com
  3. Make sure to NOT include the 1 before the area code so you only have 10 digits.
  4. Don’t put anything in the subject line.
  5. Type anything you want in the message body and press the send.

Note: The easiest way to use this simplified SMS feature is to reply to text messages and use old message to be reminded of the proper way to enter the address when you want to initiate SMS messages.

Note: You need to have a subscription for this to work because we need to register specific phone numbers that will be allowed to send and receive SMS text messages

Phone Variety

The primary phone that TM is tested with is the SPA 500 series and 300 series.

Other phones like Polycom, Grandstream and Yealink all work but are not used for the main testing. If a client wants to use another phone for any reason don’t resist or talk them out of it. It is important to remind the client that any phone they want to use will work just fine, although we recommend Cisco SPA series phones.

Have recently been trying the cordless DP720 from Grandstream which has been better for a cordless solution then using ATAs (analog telephone adapter) and analog phones. Although ATAs retain most system features, they miss a couple like the hands free intercom ability.
